The Board also received a letter from Mr. Sam Humes, resident of Mats Mats, against the approval of
Shoreline Management Permit for Jerald Weidner for construction of net shed on his existing herr ing dock.
Permit disapproved on November 27th, due to location of proposed shed.

Notice of propsed land exchange between the Dept. of Forest Service and Pope & Talbot, Inc. Land for
timber exchange on Walker Pass, T. 26N, R. 2 WWM, Sec. 2, S.E. 1/4 S.W. 1/4 less tax lot I and
state highway - 34 acres; Sec. 3, tax lot 2 (portion of the NI/2, S.E. 1/4) - 11 acres. Board does not
approve of timber being removed from the tax rolls.
Board received and discussed three copies of letters from District Sanitarian to: (1) Water system for un-
recorded plat - Triton Cove; (2) Conveniently located on-shore restroom facilities - Pope & Talbot, Inc.,
Port Ludlow; (3) Development of community water system for OlympiC Canal Tracts.

Discussion on proposed vacation of Cassellary Road on which hearing was held Nov. 13, 1972. Vacation is
being held in abeyance until the county acquires a deed for a right-of-way from Crown Zellerbach Corp.,
which is now being processed.
Motion by Commissioner Kelly, second by Commissioner Huntingford to cancel Board meeting of December 26th.
Unanimous. Notice will be so posted and advertised as by law prescribed.

Copy of Resolution from Clallam County relating to a "Master Budget" to be presented in the future from the
Juvenile Probation Director. Similar resolution will be drafted for Jefferson Co.
Letter from Port of Port Townsend re: Funding of Fort Worden Impact Study. States they have requested a
review of the need for an impact study be made before grant is accepted from E.D .A. committing the Port,
due to the withdrawal of support from the City. Commissioners will also withhold their support until study
is completed and approved by E.D.A.
Board approved two applications from Olympic Regional Planning Council, as follows: (1) Coordinated law
enforcement communication system - applicant, Robert L. Hansen, Sheriff, Jefferson County; (2) Regional
Planning for Law Enforcement and Admin. Justice - applicant Clallam County.

Copy of the Annual Work Program (March '73 thru Feb. '74) for the Clallam-Jefferson County Community
Action Council'. Board will review program in more detail.

Two letters from Richard E. Toepper re: Disapproval of Shoreline Management Permit for Pope & Talbot's
proposed addition to their Marina; and request that the Dept. of Justice be called in for investigation of where
road funds have been expended over the last 20 years, due to the unimprovement of the Swansonville Road.
Request for delay in meeting from Cape George Colony Planning Committee.

10:00 a .m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with all members present.
Pros. Attorney William Daly and Mr. Dick Bradley, Chairman, Clallam-Jefferson Counties Region I Advisory
Committoe, appeared re: Occupancy of the third floor of the Courthouse upon completion of proposed renovation.
Daly stated the Health Dept. has "sked to be moved to the third floor due to lack of sufficient room in the
basement and also, Judgo Johnston requested, in a letter dated June 23rd, that sufficient space be kept avail-
able for usa of the Jury during trials. Letter continued to say that it is improper and illegal for jurors to mingle
with th~ public and this would be inevitable if the Health D"3pt. were moved upsta irs. Mr. Bradley advised
that Reforendum 129 would enable the county to acquire Federal matching funds for the oonstruction of Social
and Health Services and if county property oan be used for the location of the building, it oan be classified as
"in-kind services" for matohing funds. Board will cheok into all possibilities.

Mrll. Helen '1aokulic and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Wirrmayer appeared to boice their opposition against the issuance
of a liquor lic()nBe for the Firelite Tavern in Chimaoum due to lack of population to support two taverns.
Commissioner Huntingford adviaed that he had already notified tho State Liquor Control Boord of his oppOSition.
Mr. Wittmayer said they have petitions being Signed against the construotion of another tavern in that area.
Board instructed them tc> send the petitions to the Uquor Conl.rol Board for their information and action.
