10:00 a.m. Meeting called to order by Chairman A. M. O'Meara with Commissioner Kelly present.
Forming of the new Board of Commissioners: A. M. O'Meara and B. G. Brown were sworn in as Commissioners
by Pros. Attorney Daly, acting as Court Commissioner of the Superior Court.

Re-organization of the Board for the position of Chairman for a two year term. Commissioner Brown stated that
he would rather not be selected as Chairman until he becomes more familiar with procedures. Motion by
Commissioner Brown for Walter A. Kelly for Chairman, second by Commissioner O'Meara and accepted by Kelly.
Discussion on problem of flooding of the Big Quilcene River at QuUcene. Board feels the river level is a
definite threat and will check out the situation during their lunchtime today.
Motion by Commissioner Brown, second by Commissioner O'Meara to approve the minutes of last Monday's
meeting as presented. Unanimous.

Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, to accept resignation of Mrs. Marjory Johnson as Director of the County's
Alcoholism Center. Second by Commissioner Brown and unanimous by Board.
Letter from Vina E. Ross, protesting the development of commercial fishing in Mats Mats Bay. Board will
request assistance from the Dept. of Ecology.
Letter from property owners protesting the poor condition of the Griffith Point Road. They request that the
road be taken over and maintained by the County. Board advises that owners must bring road up to specifi-
cations before county will take over.

Board approved and signed Resolution No. 3-73, C.R.P. No. 355; to widen the Qullcene-Center Road,
County Road No. 18, as follows:

IT IS HEiU:BY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that it is their intention to improve
2 miles of the QuUcene-Center Road, SR 104 to Center by widenJng.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT for the foregoing proper county road pus pose there is hereby appropriated
sums in the follOWing detail:

The county road purpose herein described is HEREBY DECLARED to be a public necessity and the County Road
Engineer is HEREBY ORDERED AND AUTHORIZED TO report and proceed thereon as by law provided.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this purpose be performed by in accordance with the Standard
Road and Bridge Specifications of the State of WaShington as adopted by this Board.

Auditor Betty J. Temple, informad that she had received a phone call from a lot owner in Lazy C Plat,
Division No.2, complaining of property being washed away. Lazy C, Div. No.2, is an unrecorded plat
and was never accepted by the Board.
