going law enforcement expenditures.

Letter from the Olympic National Forest Service re: Easement for portions of the Snow Creek Road. Road is out-
side of Forest Service boundaries and they request county take-over. Engineer Becker stated that his department
is obtaining the necessary deeds. Letter turned over to the Engineers Dept. for action.
John Doubek, Director, Dept. of Emergency Services, appeared re: Merit raise for his secretary. Stated the
1"aise has been advised by the State but is not mandatory or retroactive. Board informed she has been given a
raise for '73 in accordance -..vith the rest of the employees and prefer not to increase it this year.
Board received applications for membership in the Wash. State Good Roads Assoc. Engineer .Becker recommended
membership. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown for Co. Road Dept. to join_
Association. Unanimous.
Bill Stratton appeared re: Property in Quilcene for Little League Field. Lions Club has been sponsoring Little
League Baseball and has now run into difficulty with usage of school field. Requests aid from the Board in ob-
taining a piece of property.
Board signed Deed for the purchase of three lots, owned by Julian Oens, for the amount of $600 total.
Motion by Commissioner 0' Meara, second by Chairman Kelly to approve and accept bid for one Console
Electronic PI'C'cessor for the Treasurer's Office, from the National Cash Register Co., for the amount of
$10,848.60. Commissioner Brown abstained.
Letter of appreciation was received from property owners in the Qullcene area for the prompt and effective
repairs done on the levie of the Big Qullcene River to prevent flood damage to homes, land and roads.
Letter from Gerald W. Phillips requesting information regarding subdividing. Answer will be sent as requested.
Board received the following correspondence without comment.
Notice of approval of county programs and budgets for Mental Health and Drug Abuse, from the Dept.
of Social and Health Services. State funds allocated to this county for mental health for 1973 is $11,765, and
for drug abuse the amount of $1,033 for 1973.

Copy of letter to the Corps of Engineers, from Naval Torpedo Station re: Approval of Disposal Sites

Agenda for Intermediate School Dist. 114 Board meeting of March 8th.
Thore being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

10:00 a .m. Meeting called to order by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present.
Mr. Elwin M. Wright appeared re: Road on Marrowstone Island. Requests county to grade and take over road
known as "Mary Road", north of Moen Road, which is access for seven or eight property owners. Advised by
Board that road must be brought up to county specifications before take over, but road oan be graded upon re-
quest.
Hanford Choate, owner of Pleasant Tides, appeared re: Bond for completion of roads and requeot to oell addi-
tionallots. Asked if bond, in the name of previous owner, would be r:mewed by the oounty, or if oounty will
i utiHze the bond for the completion of roads? Board advised that countywill probably finish the roads.
Mr. Choate stated thoy have a new wall with an abundance of water and roquests permiSSion to sell lots in
addition to the 27 limited by the Board preViously. Offers to either post bond for three or four months or set
aoide the amount of $8000 (full cost) in an escrow account. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara to grant per-
mission for the sale of 12 more lots, in addition to the twenty seven, withthe bonding of wator by Mr. Choate,
for the amount of $16,000. Second by Commissioner Brown. Unanimous.
