Motion by Commissioner 0' Meara, second by Commiss ioner Brown to approve minutes of last meeting with
correction of name for Hadlock V1llage Mobile Horne Park. Unanimous.

Tom Aumock appeared in regard to the County Planner position. Presently working for the Community Action
Council. He hasn't formerly applied for the position, but does intend to. Has B.A. degree in Urban Planning,
experience in grantsmenship and has worked for C.A.C. for fifteen months. He has written to the University of
: Washington requesting information pertaining to the availability of their assistance in setting up a Planning Dept.
and w1ll inform the Board of their answer.
Bob Hays, Member, Hood Canal Advisory Committee, appeared re: Appointment of Members. Advised of
resignation of Dee Oeinck due to their moving from this area. Also requested the re-appointment of Herb Beck
to a three year term. Mr. Beck should have been re-appointed last year. Motion by Comml.ssioner Brown,
second by Commissioner O'Meara to re-appoint Herb Beck for the remainder of a three year term. Term will be
from 1972 to 1975. Letter will be written to Mr. Karl Randolph to ask if he will accept appointment to fill
vacancy.

Bid Opening for floats for Lake Leland. No bids received. Pros. Attorney Daly advised that Board may purchase
material for construction by the County, through authorization of R.C. W. 39.04.010 & .020, Public Works.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Lee presented a copy of a petition, signed by five tavern owners, directed to the State Liquor
Board, in regard to application for Class B., C, E, F liquor license from E. Kacker, Chima cum, Stated they are
opposed to the issuance of a new license at the present time due to economic reasons.

Copy of letter from M. R. Leitch, State Highway Commission, regarding illegal closure of State Road No.9,
Duckabush River North, was discussed briefly by the Board.
Request for assistance from Quilcene School District No. 48, in regard to the use of County Trust Forest Lands.
They feel there is harvestable timber within the district and .l.t should be harvested now while prices are high,
the timber is at its peak and they desperately need the money. Chairman Kelly will contact the superintendent.
Letter from Dennis G. Se.1.nfeld, Attorney br James E. Swanson, application for Shoreline Management Permit.
Copy of questionnaire for Impac t Statement will be forwarded.

Letter from Tom Beveridge re: George Calkins application for Shoreline Management Permit. Wants to know
what effect this proposed construction could have on his oyster and clam beds. Copy of letter will be sent to
the Advisory Commission.
Copy of West Coast Deepwater Port Facilities Studies, from U. S. Army, Corps of Engineers, discussed briefly
by the Board.
The Board reviewed the follOWing correspondence without comment:

Copy of letter to County Road Administration, from Engineer Becker, re: Bridge Inspection.
Copy of letter to Engineer Becker, from Dept. of Ecology, re: Solid Waste Management Plan.
Copy of application, from State Liquor Board, for Class E, F license for Robert Milton Kunz d/b/a
Pleasant Harbor Marina.
Copy of Class E, F license for Howard Thomas M1llard d/b/a Cove Park Grocery.
Letter from M. A. Jones, for Valley Ranches Co., re: Copy of Camping Club Ordinance.

There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was udjourned.

10:00 a .m. Meeting called to order by Chairman Walter A. Kelly with all members present.

Bid Opening for the Repair of Shine Boat Ramp:
Astro Paving, Inc. $4,064.25
Don M. Drury Co. $5,633.25
McClanahan Const. $3,260.25
Engineer's estimate $3,150.00
Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown for Engineer to oheck all totals for pOSSible
errors. Unanimous.
After checking, Engineer Becker advised that all totals are correct and recommends that McClanahan Const. be
awarded the bid. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, seoomby Commissioner Brown to award bid to McClanahan
Const. Co. for the amount of $3,260.25, tax included. Unanimous.
