WHEREAS. it has been brought to the attention of the
Board of County Commissioners for Jefferson County by the
Sheriff thereof that certain funds should be expended for
the purpose of maintaining his office at the minimum degree
of efficiency. and
WHEREAS. expenditure of such funds was not included
in the budget for the Current Expense Fund for calendar

WHEREAS. it appears that an emergency exists and that
the expenditure of such funds could not have been reasonably
foreseen at the time of the making of said budget. therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the Board of County
Commissioners for Jefferson County that the aforementioned
facts constitute an emergency. and that the extimated amount
of funds to meet such emergency is $2,292.87. broken down
as follows, to-wit:
Salary, Office Assistant and Dispatcher,
monthly at . . . $553.33
Social security, monthly at . .. 32.37
Retirement, monthly at . .. 38.46
Insuranoe benefit~ monthly at . .. 59.65

WHEREAS, it appearing to said Board that the salary
and fringe benefits hereinbefore set forth come within the
provisions of the Emergency Employment Act, the County
