Brown, Member Planning Director Dave Cunningham presented revised Clallam-j"efferson County resolution re: Agreement to Complete River Basin Planning. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown to approve and sign Joint Resolution No. 66-73, as follows. Unanimous. Clallam County 7efferson County RESOLUTION NO. 118, 1973 RESOLUTION NO. 66-73 IN THE MATTER OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN CIALIAM AND JEFFERSON COUNTIES TO COMPLETE RIVER BASIN PIANNING WHEREAS, the Boards of County Commissioners of Clallam and Jefferson Counties have met in regu- lar session; and WHEREAS, the respective Boards of County Commissioners have recognized their joint concern and obligation for the water quality within the State of Washington Sewerage Drainage Basins 17, 18, 19, and 20, which includes all or parts of those counties, and have deemed it necessary to jointly plan for improving the water quality and eUminating pollution within those basins to protect the public health, safety and general wel- fare; and WHEREAS, the State of Washington has designated the C1allam County PlannIng Department to serve as Basin Plan Coordinating Agency within Sewerage Drainage Basins 17, 13, 19 and 20, to provide liaison with the respective counties and the State of Washington, Department of Eco1oglf in attaining the desired water quality levels as established in the Federal Water Quality Standards and the State of Washington Water Quality Regulations; and WHEREAS, the Board of Clallam County Ccmmissioners has received a commitment for funds from the Department of Eoology to carry out the necessary water quality planning prOQrllm, and has retained a consulting firm to assist in said endeavor, and WHEREAS, confirmation has been received from the State of WaShington assuring that past wlltor quality studies, both private and publio, are allowable as looal matohin(J oontibut1oras, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Boards of County CommiSRiol18ro ftom Jefferaon end ClI111am Counties oooporate to tho end that the aforementioMd prOQram be oarried out for the benef!t of oitirl:ens within ! the respeotive Jurisdiotions.
