The Board discussed the request, from the State Law and Justice Planning Office, for waiver of the local
share of Law Enforcement Assistance Administration funds. Sheriff Hansen was quoted as saying that although
he does not approve of the state taking the county's funds, the Board might as well sign the waiver because
they have never been used by his department. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner
Brown for Chairman Kelly to sign.
Proposed resolution regarding "Courthouse Use and Security" was received from the Sheriff's Office. The Board
concurs with the intent and the content of the draft.
A second letter was received from Mr. John B. Robertson requesting information pertaining to the avalldbility
of funds to cover flood damage. The Commissioners will contact him by telephone.
Mrs. Linda Allen, Mrs. Pat Broderson and Mrs. Molly Middleton appeared regarding playground equipment for
Quilce,ne Park. As per Board's request, they submitted a list of the equipment they would like purchased. The
park benches and tables can be made by the county. Nine items were selected and discussed end will be order-
ed by the Board as soon as possible.
Bob Hays, Member of the Hood Canal Advisory Committee appeared re: Distructive "Bottom Fishing" in Hood
Canal. He advised that a report on the subj',ect will be given at the next HCAC meeting and requests the Board 'SI;
attendance. Meeting will be held at the Hearthstone Restaurant in Bremerton, AprU 10th. at 8:00p.m. A
publiC hearing will be held the 22nd. of May.
Mr. Hays also advised that Mr. Herb Beck is reSigning as member of the committee, and requests per-
mission to ask Mr. Karl Randolph to serve as replacement. The Board approves. Mr. Hays will contact Mr.
Randolph.

Resolution to Reconstruct
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS that it is their intention to improve 0.9
miles of the Hazel Point Road by grading, draining and surfacing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT for the foregoing proper county road purpose there is hereby appropriated sums
in the following detail:

ton Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction as adopted by this Board.
