Commissioner's Proceedings Vol. P
Jefferson County, Washington
- .'C_"I( . h4U.1"'AV; IIATT~I ,.... ~
Commissioner O'Meara expressed dissatisfaction over the notice from State Parks & Recr.eation Commission
that the meeting regarding the Keystone Harbor and Boat Basin - Ferry Slip at Fort Casey is being held at
Ilwaco, Washington instead of in this area. Board concurs that actions concerning the county should be held
in cloller proximity to allow more convenient county participation.
Commissioner O'Meara advised that the county will need to prepare for the implementation of the Uniform
Alcoholism Act, effective lanuary 1,1975, which includes providing a suitable place to put a person arrested
on a drunk charge. It will no longer be legal to put them in jail unless they commit a crime, and they have
found, putting them in the hospital has not worked out satisfactorily.
The Board received another letter from the Sportsmen's Club regarding the clr~aring and logging of the shooting
range property. Chairman Kelly and Commissioner O'Meara inspected the lIite recently, but were unable to
locate the markers necessary to define the area for prospective bidders. Commissioner O'Meara will contact
Mr. Virgil See, Club member, to go over the area with him.
