2. Supervising Deputy Probation Counselors
Admission will be made upon the recommendation and mutual agreement that tho specific needs of a parti-
cular probationer would benefit by this program. The Probation Couns510rs assigned will be responsible for a
maximum of twelve delinquent, incorrigible juveniles.
PROGRAM FOR WORK AND VOCATIONAL 'rRAINING PROGRAM

The following is a proposal that would enable the Clallam and Jefferson Counties Juvenile Court to hire
and place teenage juveniles who have been referred to this Court for reasons of delinquency andlor incorrigi-
bility. The Juveniles will be placed with various offices and agencies of government. This program will be
under the administration of the Clallam and lefferson Counties Juvenile Court.

The Clallam Comty Auditor will be responsible for writing checks for the juv,eniles and making the neces-
sary deductions every month. Each child will earn a gross of $10.00 a day. After the juveniles have been
placed in their respective jobs, a Probation Counselor will make a supervisory visit twice each week. Also
every two weeks the juveniles in these programs will be assimilated in a group so they Ccln discuss the jobs,
likes and dislikes. Some of the objectives of this program are as follows:

1. To put the juveniles to work, many for the first time.
2. To provide juveniles with a regular work routine and good ,habits .
3. To help juveniles develop a sense of responsibility.
4. To enable the juvenile to earn money for personal needs.
5. These juveniles will have good introductions to various vocational opportunities that wUI be
available to them after they graduate from high school.
6. To increase their dependence upon themselves.
