Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown to approve the minutes of August 19. Unani- mous. I Mearle Meacham, Chimaoum Schoo! Board Member, appeared to ask if Jefferson County has been notified of any funding for the school districts from the proposed Trident project. Commissioner Brown said they were advised by the Trident officials that it would be necessary for an impacted school district to document the fact that they are indeed impacted by a certain number of students, directly related to Trident, and the funds will become available. However, there has been nothing definite in writing. Mr. Meacham said he will write another letter to the Navy, for their records, requesting that the county be considered for impact funding. Lou Vitalich appeared re: Appointments for O.E.D.P. Said he is interested in the county's economic develop- ment and would like to be appointed as a memher to work on the Economic Development Plan. Other persons , to be considered are fourteen names submitted by the Chamber of Commerce, and the following persons suggest- .: ed at this time: Leonard Eaton, Buz Tyler (or his wife), Win Williams and Duke Scholds. The Board will con- tact the last four persons to see if they 'Me willing to serve before making any appointments. . Proposed adoption date of County SubdiVision Ordinance - Mr. Bill Howard, new Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, requests adoption be delayed due to some necessary clarification of definitions in the proposed draft and changes in relation to form. Motion by Commissioner Brown, second by Commissioner O'Meara to extend adoption date to September 16th. Unanimous. I Chairman Kelly stated he had inventigatad the access road referred to in the letter to Mr. Harold Brandeberry from the DNR OlympiC aroa Manager, and found the road in good condition. Letter stated the DNR's intent to make the road available for public usa, however, they cannot grant permanent access rights to the private parties involved. Board said that pOSSibly the county can maintain the access road periodically. Chairman Kelly will check with Engineer Becker fOk' the feaSibility of opening a road down below the present, one. Dr. Shirley Benham, Jr., District Health Officer, appeared regarding Resolution No. 51-74, abolighing the Jeff- erson County Tuberculosis Control 'Fund and transfsring the money into the Olympic Health District Pooling Fund. Dr. Benham explained that the l'B Control Fund is not to be abolished, but merely "cleaned up" as of December . 31,1973. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, seoond by Commissioner Brown to adopt and Sign Resolution No. 55-74, Additional $50,000 for the County Builcling Construction Funds, as follows: Unanimous.
