County trust land tran,smittal of funds , from the Dep<lrtment of Natural Resources - $8,473.40 from. Maldane Johnson for removal of timber. County trust land fee title land transmittal of funds, from the Department of Natural Resources - $1,434.07 from interest earned on monies in Department's Suspense Fund~ Report of local sales tax distribution, from the Department of Revenue. Kelly with all Members present. I Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commiss oner Brown to approve minutes of August 26th. Unani- mous. Adoption of resolution for the allocation of PUD tax funds again delayed until information can be received on the' Clearwater School District. Helen Bruns, Director, County Museum, appeared to advise that they have been offered an intern with a paid salary of $50 a week for 52 weeks, if the museum can pay an extra $10 a week. Also, in the past. they have been funded and open for only six months out of the year, and they now request permission to operate all year- around. Mrs. Burns reported on their proposed plans for remodeling and the reasons why they think it's necessary. Board advised that the requests will be taken into consideration at the time of budget hearings. . Motion by Commissi oner Brown, second by Commissioner O'Meara to re-appoint Eva Taylor and Fred Houghton to a four year term on the Planning Commission. Unanimous. New terms expire September 1,1973. Request for building permit extension. from Edwin H. Wilder. Motion by Commissioner Brown, second by Commissioner O'Meara to approve an extension for building permit no. 724, as per request. Unanimous. The Board briefly discussed the new state mandc:.ted building, fire, plumbing f.lnd mechanical codas that are tr> become effective as of January 1, 1975. Board is in favor of limiting the restrictions to as fewas feasible. I Wilda Halverson, President, Quilcene Youth Center, and Bill Stratton, Member, appeared re: Expansion of the Youth Center. She said that the building is at least 25 years old and too small to meet their needs. The C.A.C. is renting a portion of the building for $75 a month. which is causing the shortage of space, but they can't really afford not to rent. They request information as to county funding for a new building, or if not possible, the addition of a large room, a new kitchen and storage space. Chairman Kelly advised that Chimacum has first priority because they have no building at all. and then funds will be available for QuiIcene. Commissioner Brown recommends that the community organize a building committee to start making tentative plans now for the type, size and location of a new building. Wallace P. Franz, Superintendent, School DistrIct #50, and Larry Royce, Recreational Director, appeared to request an additional $5,000 for the Eastern Jefferson County Recreation Department to allow the addition of the following programs: (1) Add more sections to the s.,/,im lesson schedule and run a bus to Chimacum to bring in participants; (2) Expand aid to the QuHcene Youth Center; (3) Provide duplicate programs for both Chima- cum and Quilcene:. and (4) Provide additional aid to the Hadlock Senior Center program. Board advised that funds are very limited at the present Umo, however, their request would be taken into condiseration for determination at a later date. .. Motion by Commissioner O'Meara, second by Commissioner Brown to approve and Sign Resolution No. 57-75 authorizing payment for Consultant Services for the Human Resources Inventory and the Housing Study, as follows. Unanimous.
