RESOLUTION NO. 66-74
IN SUPPORT OF MAST
.
WHEREAS, MAST (Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic) provides transportation and paramedical
attention to accident victims in emergency situations;
WHEREAS, MAST serves virtually the enUre State of Washington with units based in Fort Lewis
and Yakima res!Jonc:ling to appeals within 10(}-mile radii;
WHEREAS, MAST responds to appeals from local law enforcement and rescue agencies in cases

Involving civilians who need immediate transportation twenty.-four hours a day;
WHEREAS, MAST partiCipated In life.-saving missions for 327 civilians including more than 100
children last year;
WHEREAS ,MAST miss ions covered automobile, logging and farm accidents along with birt ha, blood

WHEREAS, MAST reprosents the lessons of rescue and medical attention learned in warfare but
applied In the service of clvlllanu;
WHEREAS, MAST is a welcome and irrepla,ceable service to the Individuals In our community;
