Glen Abraham, Attny., appeared re: Proposed hospital purchase. He said he has been advised by
the Attorney for the Sisters of Providence that the closing date for purchase will be a negotiable
item after all, and that the Sisters can continue to operate the hospital for an undetermined
time -- possible an additional sixty days. Ther0fore, there is a strong possibility of the closing
date being prolonged until the middle of February instead of January 1st.
The Board said they will advise of their position on the possible purchase of the four-story
portion of the hospital as soon as the feasibility study is completed, which should be about the
15th of December.
The additional time will alleviate the pressures of the administrative matters for both the
Hospital District and the County.
