Open burning "control" and "permits" were discussed and Mr. Rosene advised that they still have !i jurisdiction over cities, incorporated cities and town, and within a distance outside of them, but ,i,l' the Department of Natural Re!lources Is now the main authority in the woods. He said that burning : of "non..prohibitive material" (natural vegetation & clean wood) still legal in open dumps with a permit~ but no permits are being issued for the burning of garbage, digestable waste, tar paper, etc. II Vari,ances wl.l1 be allowed until July 1, 1975, if the applicant has a compliance schedule showing how II! the burning will be eliminated, however, no permits will be issued after that date. I' ,I II II Ii 'I :1 !I I, II il II I I The Boord received a letter from the QuUcene Lions Club stating that they intend to apply to the '~i National Health Service Corps for a nurse practitioner to be placed in the Brinnon-Quilcene area. ~, They request the Board to Ilubmit a letter certifying that there is a need for such a medical servidt; in that area. The Board feels they have insignificant evidence on which to base their determination and therefore, cannot comply with the request. Chairman Kelly will notify the Lions Club. Board received a survey form from the Olympic Regional Planning Council re: Distriot Clearinghouse. PUi'i)ORe of the survay is to determine if the present two-county clearinghouse is to continue or if twcl-single-county clel!rin~houae8 are to be formed. A meeting will be held with the City/County Regional Planning Council for a joint c1,fJcision before completing the survey form. Standing~.ssessor, Lloyd Hansen came in to advise the Board of the findings in the case of Wasse,r and Winters Company VB Jefferson County.
