AGREEMENT
This Agreement is entered into by and between Jefferson County Hospital District No. two,
hereinafter referred to as the "Hospital", and Jefferson County, a political subdivision of the
State of Washington, hereinafter referred to as the "County".
WHEREAS, the Hospital has been certified by the Department of Social and Health Services as

a facility to provide care and t!eatment of the mentally ill patient for the 72 hour evaluation and
treatment period~as provided by Ch. 142, Laws of 1973, First Ex. Session, and
WHEf-EAS, the Hospital states that it has both the personnel and facilities for proper
treatment of such mentally ill patients fo~ the 72 hour period, and

WHEREAS, the County has designated u Mental Health Professional for Jefferson County, and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED as follows:

The Hospital shall provide proper facilities for and shall perform the medical treatment a nd
evaluation for all individuals summonded or authorized by the County Mental Health Professional

for a seventy-two (72) hour evaluation and treatment period.
II.
The Hospital shall comply with Cll. 142, 'Laws of 1973, First Ex. Session, in all matters relating

to 72 hour evaluation and treatment situations.
HI.
The Hospital shall charge for tlle services performed at its established rate for such oervices.

The Hospital shall bill for its services performed as provided by Ch. 142, laws of 1973,
First Ex. Session.

Upon receipt of an itemized billing setting out the name of the individual for whom the services
were. provided and the treatment and medication provided, the County shall pay for all. thcs e charges
for which it has financial responsibill.ty under Ch. 142, laws of 1973, First Ex. Session.

v.
This agreement shall become effective as of the 1st day of January, 1975, and shall continue
in effect for a period of one year from that date or until terminated under the term set out below.
VI.

Termination of thl.3 Agreement may be effected by either party by providing thirty (30) days

written notice; Such i\otice shall be Affective when received by the party to whom the said
notice is directed.
