Greg, Kate, and Heidi: Thought I'd share the news that we have completed an 18-year conservation vision in north Kitsap County with a 467-acre property that is now owned by the Great Peninsula Conservancy. Now 5,000 acres of former company timberlands is owned by either Kitsap County or GPC. This effort has enhanced the community's quality of life and is already making impacts on our economic life as well. I think there are opportunities for collaboration like this in Jefferson County and hope we all get a chance to roll up our sleeves and see what can be done. Happy New Year and hope to see you soon.
