HomeMy WebLinkAbout091124M AON c � 1 Y6'Hry GAO MINUTES JEFFERSON COUNTY Ferry Advisory Committee (FAC) Regular Meeting Minutes Wednesday September 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Jefferson County Courthouse—Commissioners' Chambers 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, WA (HYBRID) Members: Chair Tom Thiersch,Adam Levin,Nicole Gauthier,and Steve King CALL TO ORDER: The start of the meeting was delayed and was called to order once a quorum was present at 10:31 a.m.by Chair. In attendance were Members, Gauthier and King. Also in attendance was Coupeville Ferry Advisory Committee Chair Jack Schwab and Deputy Director of Planning, Customer and Government Relations Hadley Rodero. APPROVAL re: Regular Meeting Minutes of July 10, 2024: Member Gauthier moved to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of July 10, 2024 as presented. Chair Thiersch seconded the motion. The motion carried. The meeting was recessed at 10:32 a.m. due to technical difficulties and reconvened at 10:33 a.m. with Chair Thiersch Members, Gauthier and King. Also in attendance was Coupeville Ferry Advisory Committee Chair Jack Schwab and Deputy Director of Planning,Customer and Government Relations Hadley Rodero. WSF Community and Legislative Liaisons Tally Teal and Terique Scott. UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES STAFF: Deputy Director of Planning, Customer and Government Relations Hadley Rodero introduced WSF Community and Legislative Liaisons Tally Teal and Terique Scott and provided an update on WSDOT Ferries, and answered questions posed by the committee. WSF Community and Legislative Liaison Tally Teal introduced themselves and provided an update on WSDOT Ferries. The meeting was recessed at 10:37 a.m. due to technical difficulties and reconvened at 10:48 a.m. with Chair Thiersch Members,Gauthier and King. Also in attendance was Coupeville Ferry Advisory Committee Chair Jack Schwab and Deputy Director of Planning, Customer and Government Relations Hadley Rodero. WSF Community and Legislative Liaisons Tally Teal and Terique Scott. CONTINUED UPDATE FROM WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES STAFF: WSF Community and Legislative Liaison Terique Scott introduced themselves and provided an update on WSDOT Ferries. GENERAL DISCUSSION Transit connections: Member Gauthier provided an update on services, climate action plan and the greenhouse gas emissions. She also provided an update on projects to get increased ridership. She advised the ridership has increased to 91%since 2019 Covid-19 and answered questions posed by the committee. Road work affecting terminal traffic: Member King provided an update on road work, street maintenance and repair programs and answered questions posed by the committee. Tourism: no update FAC Executive Committee meetings: Chair Thiersch provided an update on FAC Executive Committee Meetings and the correspondence with Ferry Advisory Executive Committee and the Ferry Advisory Committee. Steve Nevey's All-Staff emails. Chair Thiersch advised the committee of the email correspondence of the FAC Executive Committee Members that was shared. PUBLIC COMMENT: Chair Thiersch called for public comments and no comments received. FUTURE AGENDA TOPICS • Planning and Survey Discussions ADJOURNMENT: Chair Thiersch adjourned the meeting at 11:22 a.m. until the next regular meeting or special meeting as properly noticed.
