BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
REGULAR AGENDA REQUEST
TO: Board of County Commissioners
FROM: Mark McCauley, County Administrator
DATE: January 13,2025
SUBJECT: Request for approval: expenditure of approximately $1,500 to cover the
cost of inserting a Jefferson Aquatic Coalition (JAC) survey instrument
into Jefferson County Public Utility District No. 1's (PUD) February
billing
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
The JAC has developed an Aquatic Center survey it wishes to distribute widely throughout the county.
Given the reach that the PUD has with its monthly billings for service JAC asked the PUD if it would agree
to insert the survey into its February 2025 billing. The PUD has agreed to do this for approximately $1,500
to be billed after the fact under the condition that the county partner in the effort.
ANALYSIS:
A widely distributed survey with a high return rate will provide valuable insight into the degree of
support that may or may not exist regarding a mid-county Aquatic Center. This survey will likely
be followed by additional survey efforts.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The request will cost approximately $1,500 to be paid using a portion of the LTAC funds approved for a
market survey.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend the Board approve the expenditure of the funds to distribute the survey.
