City spent 38,000 dollars on a 200 square ft area, trucked all their city employees down there on a Sunday in November for double time and a half for them to stand around for an hour
and a half with empty plastic garbage bags in their hands, there was nothing to clean up really still some litter there. Nice grift if you can get it.
Olycap trying to data collect with continuum of care then put people into the shelter and call it housing which it is not, since exempt from housing laws. If you go to buy a car and
the dealer has you sign a deal to get the car in 2-13 years that is consumer fraud, same when it's housing.
Evans Vista camp has lots of folks who are not consumers of certain drugs but they can't organize or take care of themselves, at one point there were two folks and a big dog living in
the disability Port a potty, while a man with a wheel chair sleeping under an orange tarp against the DSHS building. These are folks who can't organize to put together a tent to stay
dry, often given blankets then lose them .
There is a tendency to demonize on the part of agencies and contractors to over estimate the numbers of those in addiction and yet those in serious addiction who go into treatment are
often back out on the street. Shelter is twice as expensive as permanent supportive housing with services. Frankly homeless folks don't want your inappropriate shelter that just keeps
people homeless for years. In 1968 Community Action Program was a bunch of tents on the Washington Monument Lawn in DC. Data collection and no housing is consumer fraud. Support
housing is in extreme short supply to the point of non- existence also the type of housing people living with disability need can really vary, also folks who have had housing in the
past their case managers have not kept them in that housing and they are back out on the streets. Casswell Brown is not housing. Bayside tiny shacks are not housing. Stop criminalizing
homeless when there is no housing. There is no equity in the shelter system there is no respecting of human, civil or privacy rights, there is discrimination, demonization, marginalization
and more disenfranchisement without addressing the shortcomings, fraud and embezzlement of housing industry itself. In addition two or more mobile homes parks have jacked up their
rent to the point residents cannot afford. Homelessness is growing and soon those economically unhoused will be criminalized as well. With funding shortfalls state has no interest
in accurate count of homeless numbers, they don't have funding or inventory.
