Leach, PE ~...~Re~ Qutl. cene He£ghts subdivision - water suppl~ ' : ..... · .~ . ;, ' ..--=- issue's ~We are beg~nn'ing the process of developing a "proof.well" for the above-subdivision, we need ~o make sure that we have all of the requirementsunderstood up ~ront so that we can get accurate quotes from well_ drillers as well as 'be sure that there aren't any surprises .at final submittal time. We will be drilling' one well at the location identified on the preliminary'plat. The conditions require that this well be'tested cons~sten% with community well requirements. Historically, ~hese have been a.l[ttle different for group "B" systems compare~ to group""A" systems. I propose that the following tests be performed ~ % and request your ¢oncurrence~ if you don't agree wi~h this list., please let me know ~e changes= 1.. Bacteriological 2. Inorganic chemical.[including chlori~es) 3. Nitrate 4. 24 hour pump test Monitoring of nearby wells is supPose~ to happen as well. It' is difficult to obtain reliable information from an~xisting well that is in use as it has i~s own variations due ~o its operation. This variation will mask any impac~ that might be present. Perhaps some other method is adVisable. For example: the process that the PUD used With its Shine well was ~o monitor n,a~by wells fO~ a period o~ time to establish some knowledge (though not complete) of the typical water level variations for that well so that future, similar and normal variations wouldn'~ be blamed on the Shine well. This, however, require~ that permission be obtained from the well owner; if permission cannot be obtained than some other procedure would be necessary. Another optionwould be a second drilie~ well at close range (100'+ fo~ example)- for monitoring purposes' if this other wells would. Let me ~nbw as soon as possible.
