HomeMy WebLinkAboutDISCUSSION re Siting Aquatic Facility JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REGULAR AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners FROM: Greg Brotherton, Commissioner District No.3 DATE: January 27,2025 SUBJECT: Discussion and Potential Action on Site Selection for Aquatic Recreational Facility STATEMENT OF ISSUE: As Jefferson County moves forward in seeking design funds for an aquatic recreation facility, the Local Community Project application for design funds requires a site and site control. The Healthier Together Task Force (HTTF) made a recommendation of one of two sites, but in order to apply, the BoCC will need to choose a site and establish Site Control prior to applying for funds. ANALYSIS: Working with local partners to evaluate the viability of two proposed sites, we are recommending the site on the property of Chimacum Creek Primary School. When a PFD is formed, it may choose not to pursue the recommended site. Regardless, a choice is necessary before applying for design funds, with a deadline of 2/21/25. RECOMMENDATION: Listen to presentation on background and recommended suggestion, discuss and potentially take action to facilitate the grant application. FISCAL IMPACT None.
