Call to Order: Chair Bob Gebo called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. in the presence of Member
Dan Taylor, Member Ken Przygocki, Chief Examiner Sarah Melancon, and Secretary Kristen Bennett.
Public Comment: No comments received.
Approval of Minutes: Member Przygocki motioned to approve the meeting Minutes from
September 24, 2024, as presented. Member Taylor seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Old Business:
1. Update on the Sergeant exam and potential schedule for the upcoming test date: Chief
Examiner Melancon discussed the review and update of the current Sergeants Exam, with
plans to proceed with the exam in January. The testing date will be determined.
2. Chief Examiner Amended Civil Service Rules: Awaiting approval of the updated language
from the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
New Business:
1. Discussion of cancellation of Regular Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 24,
2024: Member Przygocki motioned to cancel the December meeting, and Member Taylor
seconded the motion. The motion passed.
2. Discussion and considerations regarding the establishment of Regular Meeting dates for
2025: The regular meeting dates for 2025 will be set for the fourth Tuesday of each
month. Member Przygocki motioned for approval, and Member Taylor seconded the
motion. The motion was passed.
3. Discussion: re: utilizing Public Safety Testing for future Sergeant exams: Chief Examiner
Melancon recommended moving forward with Public Safety Testing to conduct future
Sergeant exams.
4. Discussion of changes to RCW 10.120.0101/43.101.010 allowing DACA eligibility and the
addition of Other Preference Points: Secretary Bennett provided information on the
updated DACA eligibility and other preference points. No action was necessary.

meeting scheduled January 28, 2025.
