RESOLUTION NO. 59-09
WHEREAS, resolution 58-99 created the Solid Waste Equipment Reserve Fund
with $73,498 plus accrued interest to be set aside for equipment replacement and
WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Equipment Reserve Funds have exceeded the
reserve required for equipment replacement and
WHEREAS, an historic economic downturn has significantly impacted the revenues
in Jefferson County
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners
that reserve funds above the $73,498 plus accrued interest dating from July 19th 1999,
may be used for other capital expenditures of Jefferson County as approved by the Board
of County Commissioners.

RE: Solid Waste Equipment Reserve Fund
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Solid Waste Equipment Reserve Fund, use of reserves
ANAL YSIS: Allow use of excess reserve funds in equipment reserve fund for other capital
uses as approved by the Board of County Commissioners.
FISCAL IMPACT: Real Estate Excise Taxes have declined in this economic downturn.
This would allow use of some of these excess reserves to fund the capital programs and capital
bond debt of Jefferson County.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve resolution allowing use of reserve funds for other capital
uses.
