RESOLUTION NO. 62-09
WHEREAS, Lake Leland Park Road, County Road No. 343809 and Chimacum Park Road,
County Road No. 522809, are access roads for County parks; and
WHEREAS, budget constraints are forcing the closure of the County parks served by these
roads; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to restrict vehicle access to these closed County parks; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 47.48 R.C.W. authorizes closure of County roads;
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Lake Leland Park Road and Chimacum Park Road be
closed in their entirety to all vehicular traffic, beginning on Monday November 16, 2009, and
continuing until such time as the County is able to re-open the parks and their roads.

Road
Statement of Issue:
Closure of Lake Leland Park Road, County Road No. 343809 and Chimacum Park Road,
County Road No. 522809 is required for their entire length, as long as the County
parks that they access are closed.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's:
Lake Leland Park Road and Chimacum Park Road are County roads that provide access
for County parks. Budget constraints are forcing the closure of these parks. To
effectively close these County parks, vehicle access needs to be restricted until such
time as the County is able to re-open the parks. These roads will be barricaded and
County Road Closure signs installed. Proper notification will be provided prior to
closure.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
The reason for the closure is to restrict vehicle access to a closed County park due to
park budget constraints, This is a cost saving measure.
Recommendation:
Please execute the attached County road closure resolution and return a copy to
Public Works for implementation.
