RESOLUTION NO. 63-09
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that Oak Bay Road Culyert Replacements-MP 9, County Road
No. 569908, at M.P. 8.947 and at M.P. 9.066 , be improved as follows:
Replacement or repair of two deteriorating drainage culverts located on Oak Bay Road at M.P.
8.947 and M.P. 9.066, to improve their hydraulic performance and to eliminate ongoing
problems associated with the impending failure of the existing culverts. This proiect will provide
preliminary engineering, construction easements, construction engineering, and the actual
construction.
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that an appropriation from the officially adopted road fund budget and
based on the County Engineer's estimate is hereby made in the amounts and for the purpose shown:

This project is included in the officially adopted annual road program as Item No. _'
XX The project is hereby made a part of the officially adopted 2009 Annual Construction Program in
accordance with R.C.W. 36.81.130. (This project is included in the officially adopted 2009-2014
Transportation Improvement Program as part of Item No. 17 County-wide Culvert Replacements.
This project is also included in the proposed 2010 Annual Construction Program as Item No. II
Oak Bay Road Culvert Replacements-M.P. 9.)
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that:
XX The construction is to be accomplished by contract in accordance with R.C.W. 36.77.020 et. seq.
The construction is to be accomplished by County forces in accordance with R.C.W. 36.77.065
and WAC. 136.18.

Statement of Issue:
The issue is requesting adoption of the Resolution creating County project CR1843.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's ft Con's:
This project is included in the officially adopted 2009-2014 Transportation Improvement Program
as part of Item No. 17 County-wide Culvert Replacements. This project is also included in the
proposed 2010 Annual Construction Program as item No. 11 Oak bay Road Culvert Replacements-
M.P. 9. This project is being added to the officially adopted 2009 Annual Construction Program
per this Resolution.
The purpose of this project is to repair or replace two deteriorating drainage culverts located on
Oak Bay Road at M.P. 8.947 and M.P. 9.066, in order to eliminate ongoing problems associated
with the impending failure of the existing culverts. This project will provide preliminary
engineering, construction easements, construction engineering, and the actual construction.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
The estimated cost of this project is $250,000, to be paid from County road funds.
Recommendation:
The attached resolution is recommended for your adoption. This action is recommended, as it
will allow for the engineering and construction of this project.
The Board is asked to sign the original Resolution where indicated, and return one signed copy to
Public Works (attn. John Wayand).
