Join WSU Extension for an introductory webinar covering the basics of producing shiitake mushrooms on logs, either as an enterprise to add to your farm's crop lineup, or as a small agroforestry
side business. The webinar will be 1.5 hrs. long and presented over Zoom. All participants will be provided with shiitake production resource materials being developed by WSU Extension.
PROGRAM FEATURES:
* Timber considerations: selection, cutting, and handling
* Shiitake strain considerations
* Inoculation procedures, equipment, logistics & labor efficiency
* Shiitake production site considerations, and seasonal management
* Shiitake enterprise planning considerations
* WSU's current projects with forest-cultivated mushroom production
NOTE: WSU & OSU Extension are also expecting to be hosting several hands-on forest-grown shiitake workshops throughout the next few months, so stay tuned for future announcements.
