County Commissioners, Dr Allison Berry and Willie Bence,
Please see the KPTZ listener questions for Monday, February 3, 2025 Health Update listed below.
Public Health appears to have become even more political with the new administration.
There were only two health update queries submitted to KPTZ this past month, but with multiple questions within each one.
Thank you,
Lynn Sorensen

Questions for Dr Allison Berry:
1. What communicable diseases should we expect to see decreasing in severity as a result of the executive order entitled "Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion"?
I don't understand why communicable diseases appear in the executive order as justification for closing the southern border to "illegal aliens"
Also, is there evidence that past closures of the Canadian border to us Americans have resulted in decreasing levels of communicable diseases up there?
Would Canada be safer if they closed their border to us again to prevent American diseases from infecting Canadians the way we are closing the southern border?
2. Are there lessons to be learned about government censorship of news about the Spanish Flu during World War I that apply today?
Now that we are facing a similar communication blackout from HHS, are there ways for us to remain informed? Like, are there Canadian sources of virus information that could provide us
with clues about what's happening here when the U.S. government censors our own virus information?
