Please share this story collection link with anyone you know who works in child care, is an employer where child care has caused staffing issues, or is a parent utilizing or not able
to access child care. We are especially looking for stories about what would happen if you lost your subsidy if you have one, or if you have been denied because you are over income
qualifications. We are facing an uphill battle with expanding access to more families because of the budget deficit our state is in. We need your voices to help us lift the need and
urgency to not delay the increases for eligibility.
Request 2: SB 5500 - Modernizing reimbursement rates for the working connections child care program. (Pro)
· Systematically increase subsidy rates over time until the rates are equal to the full cost of providing high quality child care (as per the Cost of Quality Care Rate Model)
· Child care subsidy base rates must achieve the 85th percentile of the most recent market rate survey for licensed providers.
* Any rates offered via the recommendations of the cost of quality care rate model must not be lower than the 85th percentile of the most recent market rate survey.
