From: Monte Reinders, Public Works Directoy/e,/
Agenda Date: January 7, 2019
Subject: Solid Waste Advisory Committee Member resignations
Statement of Issue:
Staff turnover at organizations represented on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee
necessitates formal resignation acknowledgment by the Board of County
Commissioners. Requests by the organizations for new appointments to the SWAC are
the subject of a separate Agenda Request.
Robin Merrill, Alternate Member representing Skookum Contract Services, has
relocated to another state, and David Zellar, representing the City of Port Townsend,
has retired from City employment. Respective e-mail correspondences are attached.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's and Con's:
The respective organizations are requesting new SWAC member appointments to
represent their interests. If granted by the Board, voting member representation of
the organizations would continue.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Jefferson County's SWAC is mandated by RCW 70.95.165(3) and costs associated with
SWAC activities are identified in the 2019 Solid Waste Budget.
Recommendation:
Accept Ms. Merrill's and Mr. Zellar's resignations and update the SWAC Membership
