Last week our board held its second annual “hill climb.” Staff joined the board for 16 meetings with legislators at the Capitol where we discussed CRAB’s legislative agenda and priorities. A huge thank you to everyone who made this day possible. During our meetings, policymakers shared with the board how difficult the revenue situation is this year and that, if our proposed local roads program <https://t.e2ma.net/click/tetuum/5ngk51mb/5noa3w c> is to be funded, it will only happen if a revenue package is adopted. This is not surprising as we've known about the revenue situation for quite some time and, good times or not, establishing new programs often takes time. While many of our conversations centered around the revenue situation, they were still productive and fruitful. CRAB has an excellent reputation with the Legislature, and it was encouraging to hear how many legislators support our program proposal and would like to fund it this year. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: things move at lightning speed during session. Even though it feels like we’re on Day 500, we are only 25 days in. Everything remains fluid at this time and will likely change between now and the end of session on April 27th. We’ll continue to provide updates to you as they become available.
