Happy snow day Commissioners, Admin and staff,
I think it prudent to work a regular update from DCD on the Brinnon MPR into your monday agendas, every week. Yes, EVERY week.
This project has been sand-bagged and dissinformed for far too long and requires an expeditor. Who better to serve in that role than yourselves?
The county is losing out on housing, jobs, services, recreation, and ENORMOUS tax revenues, all while the snail's pace is allowed to continue. Please do not attempt to tell me that this
takes time or that DCD is short staffed. These are inaccuracies, misleading, in violation of agreements, and wholly unacceptable excuses. If you want examples, you know I would be more
than happy to supply them. I'd prefer that JeffCo just does the right thing and ceases to accept this obstruction which has long been an insurmountable repellant to developers and businesses
here.
We need the money. We need the jobs and the houses. We need the services and the ED.
I encourage you to disallow this practice of delegation and abdication which has threatened to drive this project into extinction and harm our county irrevocably. Cle Elum filing for
bankruptcy and liquidating assets is not how I want to see JeffCo risking our collective futures.
I beg of you. Put a weekly update on the Monday agenda. Shine some sunlight on this black box and compel the correct pace and motivation, as only you can.
