I’ve sent this message through the HUB and regular email as some of you have had difficulty receiving emails from the HUB.

We have heard from some counties that they must make significant technological investments to meet the bill’s requirements. In some cases, the costs reported have been significant.
The current fiscal note (the analysis of what a bill will cost) shows no cost for the state and is indeterminate for local governments. The costs will be borne almost exclusively by
counties.

that, if the bill passes, the legislature provides funding support to cover the costs. Right now, the Secretary of State’s office is saying that they haven’t heard from many counties
any concerns.
Please work with your auditors and IT departments to provide me with cost information. It would be helpful if you could provide me with as detailed information as possible.
