Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. I am writing to voice my support for a new aquatic recreational facility in Port Hadlock. I have been a pool user since 1990 and was pool manager and aquatics director at the Mt View pool from 2001-2010. I am well aware of the aging facility and now is the time to support this project. I am encouraged by the energy I'm seeing in the community, people are talking about it and the survey is gathering momentum. I can't stress enough how important a pool is for teaching our kids to swim and the value of aquatic exercise/therapy for our seniors. A new pool would offer opportunities for classes, competitive swim teams, and just plain fun for families. I have seen how aquatic facilities can be a community center, especially in rural counties where households are more isolated from each other. The Hadlock location is ideal for this reason - near schools, library, shopping, and other small businesses. The Port Hadlock area is growing, with a new housing development planned and sewer system in progress. The implementation of a PFD is moving forward with the hard work of many passionate people and this momentum should be supported and I am willing to work hard to maker it happen! If we keep this vision in front of us, I feel strongly that we can succeed. My favorite quote is from Nelson Mandela, "It always seems impossible until it is done" 12/5/13 Respectfully, Nancy Speser
