Washington’s North Cascades were once teeming with wildlife, including the majestic grizzly bear. Sadly, the last grizzly was hunted here in 1968 -- just one year before the North Cascades
became a National Park.
For decades, advocates have demonstrated our overwhelming support for grizzly recovery. However, a state law from the 1990s blocks the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife

Just last year we had a huge win when federal agencies pledged to move forward with grizzly restoration after considering the issue for decades. But with so much uncertainty at the federal
level, we must empower the state to take action and bring back the grizzly.
Grizzlies are a state endangered species in Washington, a species of greatest conservation need, and a priority species for WDFW. Take action and tell your representatives to support
HB 1825. It's finally time Washington moves forward on its commitment to protect the wildlife that belong here.
