Naming a Private Road

Lola Lane
WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition (Exhibit "A") to name a private road,
as shown on attached map (Exhibit "S"), either Rylies Way, Money Pit Lane or Lola Lane; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner is a property owner on this road; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner wishes to establish this road name, pursuant to the Jefferson
County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 2-0401-91, to allow for addressing
along the road; and
WHEREAS, research has shown that there are currently no addresses assigned on this
road; and
WHEREAS, notification was sent to agencies and adjacent property owners; and
WHEREAS, Fire District #1 and Jeff Com support the name choice Rylies Way; and
WHEREAS, no responses opposing the first name choice of Rylies Way were received;
NOW THEREFORE SE IT RESOLVED that the road be named Rylies Way,
ADOPTED THIS 19th DAY OF JANUARY, 2010,

Naming a private road - Bruce and Linda Brown, Petitioner

Statement of Issue: A property owner has submitted a petition to name a private road giving
the following three name choices: Rvlies Wav, Monev Pit Lane and Lola Lane. This road, as
shown on Exhibit "B" of the resolution, is located at milepost 5.82 Right on SR 20, Port
Townsend.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: There are currently no addresses assigned on this
private road; however it has the potential to serve at least 3 parcels. Notices were mailed to
all affected agencies and the petitioner is the sole property owner affected; Fire District #1
and Jeff Com 911 support the first name choice of Rylies Way. In accordance with JCC
12.20.260, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices given, together with the
comments received by the affected agencies and to accept one of the choices. The Board
may also choose to deny the petition and return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new
name choices.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: None
Recommendation: The Department of Public Works recommends that the Board of County
Commissioners review the attached exhibits and name the road Rylies Way.
