JEFFERSON COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION Regular Meeting – February 5, 2025

GENERAL UPDATES
1. DCD Staff and Director Updates:
a. Stock Plan Update: Plans will be introduced at the Jefferson County Home Builders
Association Home Show on March 1st. b. The Production Alliance is organizing a Connectivity Summit from March 7th to March 9th. DCD staff will be participating on Saturday March 8th and Sunday March 9th, and the Planning Commission is encouraged to participate and to attend the Youth Symposium on
March 7th. More information to follow. c. DCD staff is reviewing the Planning Commission bylaws to make suggestions for bylaw changes and plans to include those edits in the February 19th 2025 meeting packet for review.

b. Chair opened public hearing at 5:45 pm.
c. Public Comment was received regarding the proposed short-term rental ordinance. Public
Comment in its entirety can be viewed in the meeting recording, which can be viewed by
going to www.co.jefferson.wa.us then navigate to – Services – Laserfiche Web Portal
(username and password is: public) – Community Development - Planning Commission –
Mtgs - Recordings – PC Meetings Recordings 2025 – 02-05-2025. The public comment
portion starts at time stamp 42:44.
d. Chair closed the hearing, but stated that public comment received up until 5:00 pm on
Friday, February 7th would be considered.
e. The Planning Commission took a 5-minute recess.

f. In advance of deliberation for the February 19th meeting, the Planning Commission
discussed the draft ordinance and asked DCD staff questions regarding short term rentals.
