Home My WebLink About010 10 STATE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OF JEFFERSON I n the Matter of: } Changing the Name of a County Rd } Emil Road } Resolution No. 1 n 1Q WHEREAS, Jefferson County has received a petition to change the name of a County road from Emil Road, as shown on attached Exhibit "A", to Borgeson Road, Bergeson Road, or Borgeson Homestead Road, pursuant to Jefferson County 911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 12.20.270; and WHEREAS, the majority of property owners along this road have expressed their desire for this change by joining in this petition thus meeting the requirements as established in the Jefferson County E911 Emergency Locator System Ordinance Number 122070; and WHEREAS, notice of public hearing and request for comments prior to or at the hearing was mailed to all property owners along said road and interested parties on March 15, 2010 and a notice of the hearing was published on March 17, 2010; and WHEREAS, any and all testimony regarding this road name change has been duly considered; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Emil Road shall now be named Borgeson Road. Rd. #403209) Statement of Issue: In the public hearing held on Monday April 5, 2010 to hear testimony for the proposed road name change of Emil Road to Borgeson Road, Public Works was instructed to confirm that Jeffcom911 does not find a conflict with a similarity between the road name Ole Torkelson Road and Borgeson Road. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's & Con's: It has been confirmed with Jeffcom911, that there is not a naming conflict with Borgeson Road to Ole Torkelson Road. Correspondence with Jeffcom911 is attached for reference. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: NA Recommendation: In accordance with JCC 12.20.270, the Board is asked to consider the road name choices together with the comments received from the affected agencies, adjacent property owners and public comment and determine if the road name should be changed and shall accept or reject the name choices given. The Board may choose to deny the petition or return it to the petitioner for resubmission with new name choices. If the Board chooses to change the name of the road to the first preferred option, from Emil Road to Borgeson Road, a resolution is provided for signature.
