Hello Heather, Heidi and Greg,
Please read the following article. It has great information for why not to tax and why to look for private funding. The elected officials must realize that high taxes go hand in hand
with inability to live here and affordable housing. We just cannot afford it. Please do not continue the regressive taxing.
There is plenty of money out there. It is the distribution. And, so many have tried this pool business before. I was part of leading the Y in partnership with the county, city, JAC,
hospital and school district to create an aquatics center at Mountainview. The Y has incredible examples of privately funded aquatic facilities locally and around the world. The
Maritime Center was funded privately, 17.5 million for a very small niche being served. There are other ways which are not regressive and do not add burden to the already heavily burdened.
You may want to reach out to others who have done this before and look at other examples.
Remember, slow down and keep egos in check. Helps with making the right decisions.
