Good Morning,
I hope it is not too late to comment on the pool. I believe strongly in having a pool facility available to all. I believe your new location would benefit everyone within the Port Townsend/Chimacum
area. I grew up in a pool. After falling in a pool at the age of 4 and almost drowning, my parents decided it was a good idea for all their children to learn to swim. After learning
to swim,I swam from the age of 5 competitively until late teens. I was a member of swim clubs, and the YMCA throughout my life.
I also believe in community spaces for all.
Create a "Third Place". The original idea was introduced by Ray Oldenberg, an American Sociologist. He wrote the book "The Good Great Place" .
Examples;
Lake Forest Park, Pulbois Market
Kohala Village Hawaii
There was grants available from the Dept of Archaeology & Historic Preservation to help create these spaces. I hope there still is.
These facilities contain gathering spaces to create connections, art spaces, game spaces, possible coffee/snack space, Sport facility and a great place for a pool!
