Dear Members of the Board of County Commissioners,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this email to recommend Andy Pernstiner as Intern Jefferson County Sheriff. I have known Andy for 24 years. Starting when he was a Deputy, then
Sargent and the Under Sheriff. I have witnessed and can attest to his leadership, qualifications and dedication in law enforcement and public service.
Andy embodies the qualities essential to an effective Sheriff. He has consistently demonstrated sound judgement, integrity, and a commitment to upholding the law while encouraging public
trust in our community. During his tenure in all capacities of the Sheriff’s Department, he has exceled in leadership and has a remarkable ability to inspire confidence in his team.
I know this because, I own a business that has 58 employees who most all are residents of Jefferson County. Giving our team confidence also creates high moral amongst the members of
our company. Which allows them to go out in the field making good decisions and do a good job. Knowing most all the deputies who are currently working with Andy, I know they feel same
about his skillset leading this Sheriff’s Department.
We have had some of interaction with several Sheriff Departments regionally. And I have to say we residents here in Jefferson County are lucky to have group we do. I have no doubt that
Andy Pernstiner will bring the same dedication, professionalism, and vision to the role of Sheriff that Andy has shown though his career. Jefferson County would be fortunate to have
a principled and capable leader ensuring the safety and well-being of all us residents.
I appreciate the work you at the BOCC do, and the direction we are going. DCD has been great to work with lately. Last but not least Public Works! Not being bias here. LOL! Great group
of staff. Let’s keep it going!
