Dear Commissioners,
I believe the time has come for the county to say to all organizations that offer overnight shelter on a regular basis, that they need to be responsible to provide full hygiene support
with showers and laundry available to all their residents. That would remove at least half the demand from us at the Winter Welcoming Center. Our primary goal is to save lives of those
who are unsheltered by offering somewhere to get warm, fed and have access to dry clean clothes. We were not set up to support the hygiene needs of those being sheltered by other much
larger organizations. Thank you, Julia Cochrane

Brene Brown after the election:
“Right now, the thing that is helping the most is micro-dosing hope. I have no access to big hope right now, however, I am asking myself how I can support people around me. The people
on my team, in my community. How can I make sure that, in the maelstrom of my emotions, I stay committed to courage, kindness, and caring for others regardless of the choices made by
others? Doing the smallest next right thing is hard AF, but sometimes it’s all we’ve got.”
