* Wage Replacement for Excluded Undocumented Workers (HB 1773/SB 5626): This bill was voted out of committee in both the House and the Senate and referred to Appropriations and Ways

* Attorney General Investigation and Reform (SB 5066): This bill concerns law enforcement and local corrections agency misconduct through investigations and legal actions. Scheduled

* Unemployment Insurance for Striking Workers (SB 5041): This bill is proposing that striking workers could apply for unemployment benefits and get some wages while still on strike,

* Promoting Inclusivity in Public Schools (SB 5123): This bill amends existing law (RCW 28A.642.010) to expand the list of protected categories against discrimination in public schools.
The amendments include the insertion of "ethnicity," "gender," "homelessness," "immigration or citizenship status," and "neurodivergence" as additional grounds for protection. Had a

* Reform Private Detention Facilities (HB 1232): This bill mandates that facilities develop robust policies to protect detain persons' rights, prevent abuse, and maintain infection control.

Special Note: Unfortunately, Health Equity for Immigrants (HB 1482) did not advance beyond the cutoff date for the legislative session. WAISN along with coalition partners is planning
some upcoming actions to support a budget proviso for protecting funding for Apple Health Expansion—stay tuned for upcoming action alerts to support Health Equity for Immigrants!
