Dear Commissioners,
I just want to send a brief (unusual for me) and positive message thanking all of you for your support of Tami Pokorny’s funding request regarding the FCAA grant she is working on collaboratively
with the Brinnon Community to find and execute solutions to help mitigate flooding, protect the public, the environment and also allow for appropriate economic development too.
I also appreciate and want to thank both DCD and Public Health for their participation in this process and wanted to be sure you are aware they are engaged with the South County Task
we have organized to address the FEMA designation, the Flood Plain Disaster plan and the impact it all has on our community.
This grant is a first step in a long road ahead with many obstacles likely. It is my hopes and expectations that our little community will be able to set a shining example of what can
be accomplished when a community comes together with common goals on common ground with common good in mind. Call me crazy, but I believe it is possible.
