Plan for around-the-clock alternating traffic on US 101 in Jefferson County south of Forks
FORKS – The month of March is coming in like a lion with highway construction on US 101 south of Forks.
What’s happening
From Monday, March 3 through Friday, April 4, travelers will encounter temporary traffic signals at two locations in Jefferson County.
The signals will alternate traffic around the clock at two recent fish barrier removal sites <https://links-1.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwsdot.wa.gov%2Fconstruction-planning%2Fsearch-projects%2F

The sites are located at approximately milepost 181 and 182.
The speed limit is also reduced to 25 mph from 60 mph between mileposts 181.83 to 182.39 and 181.01 to 181.35.
Why this is needed
Construction crews will repair guardrail on two new structures built in 2024. A large arch culvert and bridge replaced outdated culverts that blocked fish passage under the highway.
