Commissioners and staff,
While I am at it, I'd like to share some more info with links so you don't have to take my word for it.
The link to the Interlocal Agreement is:
https://cityofpt.us/sites/default/files/fileattachments/engage_pt/page/20561/interlocal_healthier_together_final_fully_executed.pdf
In that agreement, we find:
Funding:
$ 30,000 City of Port Townsend
$ 5,000 Port Townsend School District
$ 50,000 Jefferson County Hospital District
$100,000 Jefferson County
$ 5,000 Port of Port Townsend
The City also paid the Opsis fee; the link to the $175,000 Opsis contact is here:

Here are some more comments, as compiled by Mark Grant, about the costs as of late 2023:
"...As publicly stated by John Mauro at a previous BOCC meeting, the city has put approximately $500,000.00 towards the Healthier Together Aquatic Center plan. When he made that statement,
I am sure he was likely implying costs related to the $30,000.00 and $175,000.00, $205,000.00 total you have referenced, plus whatever the city has paid Carrie Hite, plus the initial
DCW Cost Management contract/ consulting work, plus the WTI and CG Engineering contract/ consulting work. I do not believe the $500k included the latest DCW Cost Management City of
Port Townsend Pool Study report. If I were to guess, that study likely cost the city around $30k. And now you would have to assume more time has been spent by Carrie Hite as part of
her ongoing contract going into 2024. If I were to SWAG the costs to the city for her more recent time spent on this fiasco, I would estimate around $20k. Then there is $5,500.00 towards
the WADOC ILA feasibility study. So here are the revised funding totals:
$ 555,500.00 City of Port Townsend (some costs here are estimated)
$ 5,000.00 Port Townsend School District
$ 50,000.00 Jefferson County Hospital District
$ 105,500.00 Jefferson County (included JeffCo portion of WADOC ILA funds)
$ 5,000.00 Port of Port Townsend
$ 721,000.00 Estimate Total Spent On the Aquatic Center fiasco to date (this represents a bunch of paper and wasted human resources)
I wouldn't be at all surprised if this $721k is actually light, especially if you considered time spent at City Council meetings and BOCC meetings with staff time and other overhead
expenses. I would bet the number is actually between $800k and $900k.
It is not hard to think of so many better ways this money could have been spent for the essential needs of our community. The taxpayers need to be aware of this nonsense!"
So no, definitely not $300K.
