Benton County recently participated in Career Day at Chiawana High School, celebrating Career and Technical Education Month by providing valuable insights into public service and careers in local government. Deputy County Administrator Matt Rasmussen shared his professional journey, highlighting his roles as County Engineer and Deputy County Administrator, while Chief Deputy Assessor Danielle Hayes shared her personal career story and emphasized the vital functions of the Assessor's Office and the necessary steps to succeed in this field. Additionally, Public Defense Director Keith Johnson captivated students with his experiences and essential advice on pursuing a career in law, discussing the educational and training pathways required. Nicole Lett and Jlyn Timmons from the Coroners Office also spoke to students about career options in their field. This engaging event not only informed students about various career opportunities within the county but also encouraged meaningful connections and inquiries, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for future professional aspirations.
