HomeMy WebLinkAbout030625 email - Raffle opportunity at Connectivity SummitDear self-advocates, employers, and supporters of people experiencing intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, I want to make sure your teams/families know I would especially love to see them on March 7 and 8 at the Connectivity Summit <http://connectivitysummit.net/> at Chimacum High School. I’m educating the community about resources available in Jefferson County for people living with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). During the event, I am holding a raffle to give away 14 high-quality noise-cancelling headphones (adult-sized, see product photo below). As you probably know, headphones like these are some of the most requested assistive devices for folks living with IDD. However, they can be a useful tool for just about anyone! I imagine transportation, accessibility, and scheduling can be a barriers when it comes to participating in events such as the Connectivity Summit. For that reason, I am offering the public a chance to enter the raffle even if they are unable to attend the event in-person. So, with that said, please invite anyone who is at least 18 years old to get in touch with me if they would like to enter the raffle. When I connect with an entrant, I will ask them if they need more information about disability resources in our county, especially the state program School-to-Work <https://www.dshs.wa.gov/dvr/school -work> for those nearing high school graduation. However, the only information I would need from an entrant is a name and a contact method. I will confirm entry for those I connect with, however, it may take me some time to respond depending on the volume of entries.
