UPDATED! Urgent Action Needed | HB 2015
LSC Members,
WSAC is closely following and supporting HB 2015. This bill provides new local authority for a .1% sales tax for law enforcement and includes a state-funded grant program.
The bill is currently on the House Floor and needs to be placed on a run calendar so that it can be approved by the House and moved to the Senate by next Wednesday, March 12.
Time is running out and we need your help! Please contact your House members and ask them to support HB 2015. Let them know it needs to be placed on a run calendar for action.
Also, please include that counties should not be required to share revenue with cities under the bill. HB 2015 provides cities with their own authority to implement the new tax. Cities
already have more revenue sources than cities. Requiring revenue sharing would reduce county resources to meet the goals of the bill.
