SUBJECT: ADVISORY COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT(1) re: Conservation Futures Fund Citizen
Oversight Committee (CFFCOC); Unexpired term for District#1, Carol Bernthal
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
On February 19, 2025 the Conservation Futures Fund Citizen Oversight Committee advertised an opening for an
unexpired term representing District#1.Jefferson County resident Carol Bernthal responded to the ad prior to the
March 5, 2025 deadline. She was the only individual to express interest in the vacancy.
ANALYSIS:
On February 27, 2025 the Natural Resources Program Coordinator, CFFCOC Program clerk, and two committee
members interviewed Carol Bernthal in person for this volunteer position.
The interview committee highly recommends Carol Bernthal to serve an unexpired term on the CFFCOC.
Public Health requests that the County Commissioners appoint Carol Bernthal to an unexpired term on the
Conservation Futures Fund Citizen Oversight Committee (CFFCOC) to represent District#1.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the county's General Fund for appointing Carol Bernthal to a seat on the CFFCOC.
RECOMMENDATION:
Public Health recommends that the County Commissioners approve the letter of appointment to the Conservation
Futures Fund Citizen Oversight Committee for the following individual:
• Carol Bernthal—Representing District 1—Unexpired term to end on January 12, 2027
