STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTMENT
Advisory Board appointment (1) re: Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC);
Agricultural Community Representative
ANALYSIS:
Public Works has received a request for appointment to the SWAC from Ms. Sierra
Young as a representative of the agricultural community. Ms. Young would replace
Mr. Glenn Gately who has indicated that he would prefer not to serve another term
and whose term has expired. Like Mr. Gately, Ms. Young is also employed by the
Jefferson Conservation District. Ms. Young's work with farmers in Jefferson County
and the perspective she has gained from it would be beneficial to staff as the update
to the Solid Waste Management Plan begins in April, 2025.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Ms. Young's request for appointment to the SWAC and update the SWAC
membership list.
